This is Thurl Ravenscroft, btw, the great American basso, voice of Tony the Tiger, singer of "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch," and soloist at the Crystal Cathedral. Look closely at this photo and try to locate his adam's apple, which appears to be somewhere beneath his collar bone. Now that's a deep voice.
What's it like to be a midwestern American female at age 50? Let's find out together!
I'm perfectly normal in many respects. I am my second husband's third wife. Our child is younger than most children of 50 year-old mothers. We work, we scrape, we worry.
And I'm wondering what 50 will bring, in addition to swollen ankles.
Insight? wisdom? yuks? or yucks?
My goal is to post from time to time for a year, beginning on my 50th birthday.
All's I know is this: we've got to be strong. In every way.
